Our story didn't start in a perfect storybook way- it started like a lot of modern love stories do, with a simple connection on Bumble in January 2021. We talked for a bit, but life pulled us in different directions and we lost touch.

Months later, around Mother's Day, I reached out. I've always been a sentimental person, and I tend to check in on people during moments that matter. When I messaged her, she responded - and that one message changed everything.

We started going out, spending time together, and quickly realized there was something real between us. The chemistry was natural, the connection was easy, and somewhere between those early dates (and her well-known love for French Fries) we found ourselves wanting more. It didn't take long before we decided to be exclusive.

Those early months were exactly what they needed to be fun, balanced, and genuine. We gave each other space to grow while still building something strong together.

But what truly defines our story isn't just how we started - it's what we've been through.

Over the past five years, life has tested us in ways we never expected. We've faced deep loss with the passing of her father. We've endured health scares, including a vacation that turned into a hospital stay because of a sickle cell crisis. We've navigated family challenges, including caring for loved ones through mental health struggles and difficult circumstances. We've faced uncertainty, setbacks, and moments that forced us to grow individually and together.

We've also worked through our own challenges as a couple, learning what it really means to commit, to forgive, and to show up for each other - consistently and intentionally.

Through it all, we made a choice - not just to stay, but to grow.

Those moments didn't break us-they built us. They shifted our mindset from simplu dating to truly preparing for a life together.
